How do I apply for a Business License?
The City of Lake Geneva requires every business to have a business license which is $10 each year. A new business must file an application for a Business License and be approved.

Where do I get Beach Passes?
You can obtain Beach Passes if you are a resident of the City of Lake Geneva. You will need to bring some identification to City Hall to obtain your passes.

How do I get a Building Permit?
You need to apply for a building permit in person at the Building Inspectors Office at 626 Geneva Street. You can call to obtain information regarding your permit at 262-248-3911.

How do I obtain a Bartender’s License?
Bartender’s Licenses are called Operator Licenses and are obtained upon application and approval of the governing body. You must file an application for an Operator’s License
with the current fee of $30. Bartender’s licenses are good for 1 year and all expire on June 30th of each year.

How do I obtain a Parking Sticker?
Parking Stickers are valid for 2 years and issued to City Residents free of charge. A fee is required if you do not reside in the City limits. You need to bring in your current Vehicle Registration to City Hall to obtain this sticker.

How do I get a Work Permit?
Work Permits are obtained at City Hall. The cost is $5 and you will need a birth certificate or identification, along with a letter from your employer.

Other licenses for the City include Cigarette Licenses, Milk/Dairy License, Alcohol Licenses, Amusement Licenses, Billiards Licenses, and Operator Licenses -

How do I obtain tax information about a property?
You can log on to the County Website at www.co.walworth.wi.us and type in the tax key and obtain information you need.

Where do I pay my Tax Bill?
First installment of taxes can be paid at the City Treasurer’s Office. However, the second installment must be paid in Elkhorn, at the County Treasurer’s office.

| How do I register to Vote?
You can register to vote by mail, in person, or at the polling place on election day. By mail - You can download the form application for Voter Registration (EB131) complete the form, copy your required identification, and mail at least 2 weeks before the election. In Person - Come to the City Hall Building at 626 Geneva Street. At the Polls on election day - Aldermanic District 1 & 2 vote at the City Hall Building. | Where do I vote?
The City of Lake Geneva has two polling locations depending on where you live. If you live in Aldermanic District 1 or 2 you vote at the City Hall Building.
If you live in Aldermanic District 3 or 4 then you vote at the Fire Station which is located at 730 Marshall Street. You can view the Aldermanic map to see where
you vote. Polls open at 9:00AM and Close at 8:00PM.
